Green Mountain

As far back as 1995, when the 93.7 and 97.5 MHz licenses were owned by Citadel Communications, we began planning to put up a new tower and transmitter building on Green Mountain. The site is not actually on Green Mountain, but on a somewhat lower peak to the south that we will call Lower Green Mountain.

Clear Channel building
When we constructed the original transmitter building on Lower Green Mountain in 1986, the only transmitter in it was for KUUB-FM 95.1 MHz. When this photo was taken, it had been expanded to house three transmitters for Clear Channel Radio, KMMS-FM 95.1, KSCY-FM, 96.7, and KXLB-FM 100.7. Today, this building is gone and the transmitters have been moved to the "new building."
Channel 7 building
This transmitter building for KCTZ-TV Channel 7 was built in 1987. The call sign has been changed to KBZK-TV, and the station has been moved to a new building that occupies the formerly empty space in the foreground.
Both buildings
The Clear Channel FM stations had a 10 kW Kohler generator for backup electricity, powered by propane from the tank in the foreground.
Tall Tower

FAA microwave

This new facility is planned to house transmitters for Reier Broadcasting Company stations KBOZ-FM, KOBB-FM, and KOZB-FM.
