Ted Austin, Jr.
K275BC, Teton Village.
Our second project for Ted was in October, 2007, at Teton Village, Wyoming.
The translator station was constructed at the top of the Jackson Hole
Mountain Resort.
The antenna support structure at this site was a steel monopole disguised
to look like a pine tree. Three levels of panel antennae are hidden
among the "branches." Here, Jim has rigged the "tree," and we are ready
to haul up the FM transmit antenna.
The ground around the building was rough enough that it was easier for
Ted to carry the reel of coax than to roll it. Note, the STL dish has
been painted Forest Green.
David Hubbard packs the new STL receiver to the building.
Inside the building, the new FM translator shares space with the Teton
County Sheriff radio.
Bext STL receiver on 949.5 MHz and Bext FM Exciter on 102.7 MHz.
Ted helps raise STL dish.
While Ted holds the rope, Jim and Loren mount the STL dish on the pole.
Note, the bark camoflage on the lower part of the "tree."
On the morning of our second day at the site, we were greeted by
a light dusting of snow.
