New Digital STL & Audio Processing Page.

For years, KCGM had been plagued by problems associated with their old, analog telephone lines. Equipment at both ends had been damaged by surges on the lines, and Nemont technicians no longer had the spare parts or expertise to maintain them. Exercising a bold vision for the future, the Board of Directors decided to replace the entire audio chain from the console to the transmitter.
Scobey
We made the trip to Scobey on June 8, 2011, and began to unpack and inspect the new equipment.
Barix, Omnia, Aphex
Audio transport would be handled by a Barix Exstreamer 1000 at each end. The Aphex Compellor would drive the encoder, and the decoder would feed the Omnia One.
KCGM Rack
In the rack at the transmitter site, from the top: Jim's laptop computer, spare Bext exciter, Barix Exstreamer 1000 decoder, Omnia One audio processor, two spare satellite receivers, Behringer AutoCom Pro audio processor, Western Electric power supply, Western Electric amplifier/equalizers.
