In 2013, with grants from two philanthropic organizations, KCMM was able
to move the transmitter to a higher location to give better coverage
of the Gallatin Valley.

This is the tower and building to which the KCMM transmitter will move,
at the High Flat Electronic Site. The FCC Application for Construction Permit
was prepared by Gray Haertig.

The Shively antenna is delivered to the site on 04-Sep-2013.
The boxes have been opened and the contents sorted. The antenna radiators
are at the upper center. The interbay lines are at the bottom, and the
gray plastic radomes are on the right, 04-Sep-2013.
The first FM antenna bay has been assembled, 06-Sep-2013.

All three bays of the Shively 6810-3R are mounted on the mast, 07-Oct-2013.
A sharp eye might notice that the interbay spacing is less than one
wavelength. In order to reduce downward radiation, the bays are
spaced 0.85 wavelength apart.
The backup antenna is a Kathrein four element Yagi, 07-Oct-2013.
An important step was to have the electric service to the site
upgraded. A crew from Mountain Power installs a 112.5 KVA 3-phase
pad mount transformer on 08-Oct-2013.
Electricians from Allied Electric install a larger distribution
panel, 08-Oct-2013.
On the back side of the transmitter building, the six-port cable entry
panel has been installed. The air conditioner outside unit has been
brought to the site, 10-Oct-2013.

Inside the transmitter building, the equipment rack is in place. The air
conditioner inside unit has been hung from the ceiling, and the
electrical work has been completed, 01-Nov-2013.
The air conditioner outside unit has been mounted behind the
transmitter building, 01-Nov-2013.
Coaxial cables for backup transmitter and STL receiver have been
installed, 16-Nov-2013. Note the ferrite donuts on both cables.
Ice bridge over the two coaxial cables, 27-Dec-2013. The lower center
porthole is shared with the pipes to the air conditioner.
The Nautel V10 transmitter has been brought to the site. The three-phase
electric feed to the transmitter passes through these ferrite toroids,
21-Feb-2014.
The Shively 2516-3A three-cavity bandpass filter is in place and connected
to the transmitter, 24-Feb-2014.
Work on the new transmitter site continued through the winter. The transmitter
room is sealed so the air conditioner runs year-around, 25-Feb-2014.
