Montanavision, Inc.
Contract Client 1993-1995.
Jann Holter Bertnsen called us in 1993 to help make the station more stable and reliable. The Gates One
1,000 Watt transmitter was very sensitive, seeming to go off the air with every passing storm.
We welded the tower sections together and installed a new ATU from Kintronic Labs. These measures helped,
but the real culprit was wind static, accumulating on the guy wires and jumping across insulators to the tower.
KPRK, Livingston.
Contract Client since 2005.
Clear Channel Radio, Bozeman.
Eventually, Jann sold the station and an FM Construction Permit to Marathon Media, who sold them to
Clear Channel Communications. Market Chief Engineer Dennis Mountford called us in 2005 to help on
a project to install a new translator for KXLB at the KPRK site.
One of the first steps was to mount a new iso-coupler at the base of the KPRK tower; Jim on left,
apprentice Loren Denison on right, July 15, 2005.
After attaching a connector and installing a grounding kit, we pulled the new 7/8 inch coax up the tower.
Loren uses stainless steel hose clamps to secure the coax to the tower leg while Jim supervises and
Dennis checks important paperwork in the shade, July 15, 2005.
